XION and EigenLayer integrate to enable AVS access for novel, consumer-ready application builders
The integration will allow XION’s growing developer pool to tap into EigenLayer’s expansive list of AVSs and leverage a wide range of ZK tools, including zkTLS, provers, and coprocessors to build novel apps backed by over $14.93B in security.
XION is integrating with EigenLayer, which enables XION-native apps to leverage EigenLayer’s extensive pool of Actively Validated Services (AVS) to create the next generation of consumer-ready applications. This integration not only opens doors for XION app builders to tap into EigenLayer’s AVS network, but it also drives broader AVS adoption.
By incorporating AVSs into XION’s tech stack, XION is empowering its developers to perform a wide range of new functionalities supported by the trust and fair execution of code that EigenLayer enables. This wider functionality and enhanced trust allow XION developers to build applications that live up to consumer expectations and compete with Web2 apps.
The first implementation of this integration comes from one of XION’s core ecosystem applications, EarnOS, which is leveraging Opacity Network, an EigenLayer AVS, to incorporate zkTLS into its application. This allows EarnOS to fulfill its goal of connecting global consumer brands, including Uber and Baskin Robbins, directly with high-intent customers. It enables secure data transmission through zero-knowledge proofs combined with TLS encryption, ensuring verifiable, private communication between parties while maintaining data integrity and protecting sensitive information from exposure.
With XION’s protocol-level abstractions providing the tools required to abstract Web3 complexities working alongside EigenLayer’s AVSs, developers can create intuitive, secure, and scalable applications on XION that leverage advanced features including zero knowledge technologies, cross-chain interoperability through multi-chain validation, and enhanced data availability for high-throughput solutions.
EigenLayer Overview
EigenLayer has a vision of building coordination engines for driving open innovation. EigenLayer is built on Ethereum and introduces ‘restaking’, maximizing the utility of staked capital while maintaining Ethereum's robust security. It allows developers to build Web3 applications that leverage this security and trust. As of January 2025, over $14.93 billion has been restaked, providing XION apps that use AVSs with robust, reliable security.
EigenLayer enables developers to extend beyond Ethereum’s native compute capacity and offer secured off-chain services through AVSs by eliminating the need to replicate the costs, complexities, and resources of building and maintaining a separate blockchain.
By aggregating a network of Restaked assets and Operators, EigenLayer facilitates the validation of new Web3 services, offering a scalable and efficient solution for developers. Each AVS consists of on-chain contracts for validation and a flexible network of off-chain Operators who execute tasks and provide evidence of execution to the AVS contracts. This model allows AVS developers to customize their design, ensuring tasks are completed securely, with Operators rewarded for proper execution or penalized through slashing for malicious behavior, fostering trust and reliability. This model removes the barriers to security and operator onboarding, offering benefits like Ethereum-backed security, a ready-to-deploy 1,936-strong Operator network, and integration with the broader Ethereum ecosystem, all while ensuring decentralization and trust.
Eigen Performance Meets XION Simplicity
XION is dedicated to simplifying Web3 for everyday users by abstracting the most significant user experience challenges, such as wallets, private key management, and gas fees. By focusing on creating the tools necessary for developers to build seamless and intuitive user experiences, XION addresses the obstacles that stand in the way of widespread Web3 adoption.
With over 60,000 daily active users, 200,000 weekly, and over 550,000 monthly on its newly launched mainnet, and an extensive ecosystem of hundreds of developers actively contributing to the XION ecosystem, XION is already displaying early momentum of more widespread adoption by both users and developers.
EigenLayer’s AVSs introduce a new aspect to XION’s approach by enabling advanced tooling backed by security and scalability that further elevate XION’s user-focused innovation. With EigenLayer’s growing list of AVSs, XION developers will be able to tap into an expanding range of services to ensure they’re constantly iterating their applications to meet user needs.
“We perceive XION as a gateway to the everyday consumer. Their ability to utilize AVSs is a great step forward for EigenLayer as we drive towards mass adoption”, says Luke Hajdukiewicz Head of AVS at Eigen Labs.
The zkTLS tooling used by EarnOS is only the tip of the iceberg — EigenLayer offers a variety of AVSs that XION builders can leverage to better ensure their applications meet user needs and demands. Other notable AVSs include Ava Protocol, which provides event-driven automation for private, autonomous super-transactions, enabling XION developers to integrate intelligent automation and enhanced privacy into their applications. Another example is Lagrange, which offers decentralized infrastructure for multi-chain block production and validation, facilitating efficient cross-chain interoperability. Beyond AVSs, EigenDA serves as a data availability network providing high throughput and low costs.
Driving Web3 Adoption
XION’s integration with EigenLayer is one of the most significant ones to date, and showing early signs of driving increased adoption of AVSs and ultimately Web3. By tapping into EigenLayer’s expansive network of AVSs, XION developers are empowered to create secure, scalable, and novel applications that meet the demands of XION’s growing user base and onboard non crypto native users. As XION continues to grow its ecosystem of consumer-first applications, the integration with EigenLayer will play a crucial role in delivering novel features and accelerating the adoption of Web3.
